PROM HAIRSTYLES 2013: HOW TO STYLE

Prior to yesterday’s post, I thought it would be appropriate to post about different prom hairstyles. Whether you curl it, leave it loose and wavy, half up or half down, there are endless styling possibilities for the special night.

For the vintage look – Julianne Hough retro look reminiscences Hollywood glam. It is the perfect hairstyle for a lace vintage dress. To create this style: Curl hair using a large curling iron and start halfway down the head. To get a big and strong spiral in front, use a round brush to twirl together the front pieces. Add some serum for the polish look.

For the whimsical look – Ashley Greene side updo hairstyle looks very simple but yet stunning. It is a perfect look for this magical dress. To create this style: the hair is smoothed to one side at the nape of the neck and secured with pins into a beautiful bun. Bangs can be swept to the side and pinned down. Pull out some hair on the sides to frame the face. Spray it with some hairspray to keep it in place.

For the romance look – Hilary Duff wore a chic, messy updo with a twisted bun and textured volume on top. The updo is blown back to draw more attention to the dress and the necklace. To create this style: thoroughly brush your hair to get rid of any tangled hair. Take the first section of hair and spray it with some hairspray. Hold the hair up straight and start teasing it. Lightly brush the un-teased section of the strand using only the tips of the brush and making sure not to touch or weigh down the teasing. Rub styling gel through the bottom half and pull it up into a bun at the back of your head. Pull out a few pieces of hair around your face for a wispy look, and mist your updo with a hairspray to keep it in place.

For the chic look – Lea Michele sexy down-do goes perfectly well with the chic look. The texture and the lengths add a glamorous and feminine feel that reminds you of the 1960s. To create this style: Apply some Volume Spray all the way through the damp hair to help thicken the hair and to give it body without weighing it down. Create a side parting and blow dry the hair in small sections to create volume at the roots and add smoothness to the lengths. Then apply serum to the hands and run fingers through the waves. Finally, twist the ends to add some definition to the style.
