Swimsuit season is here! Finding the right swimsuit that is designed for your figure can sometimes be a little intimidating. Today, I want to help you find the perfect swimwear that looks best for you. I have done some research to help flatter women with different body types: those with curvy shape, those with straighter shape, and those with petite shape.

For curvy shape, a one piece with ruched detailing is perfect to draw the focus away from areas you want to hide. Plus the color is very flattering. Victoria Secret ($58)

one piece

For a straight figure, you definitely have to find a top with bows or some kind of seaming around the torso to create a curvier look for more oomph up top. And the color blocked details like bows that sit on the hips add a feminine touch to straight frame. Asos (Top: $23.76) (Bottom: $20.36)

straight figure

For a petite shape was all dream for those longer, slender legs. Of course we cannot alter those genetics but we can definitely find a few tricks to create the illusion of longer legs. Wearing high waisted bottoms will definitely help pull that trick. JCrew (Top: $54) (Bottom: $50)

I hope this helps you figure out what swimsuit styles that is flattering to your frame. Enjoy your summer and the hot weather!

I am pleased to announce that smboutique will soon open for business on Smboutique will offer little ladies and little gentlemen clothes and accessories. Please stay tune for more details later. I will soon mainly use this website for shopping at my boutique but do not be discourage, I will still blog daily. There will still be more easy DIYs, recipe, fashion, and etc. I am not going anywhere! I am just extending out this website. I hope you guys are here to stay with me. There will still be more giveaways but now the kids can benefit from it too. So for all the mommies out there, please share with other mommies.

I am so excited to share these photos of our kids’ room with all of you! We recently did a makeover to our kids’ rooms. Chloe and Cohen are growing up way too fast and it was time for us to create a big kid’s room for them. When designing the rooms, I tried to avoid anything that resembles themed dĂ©cor – like Disney characters, princesses, Star Wars, etc. I wanted to create an age appropriate room that is not overly themed and can easily be transformed into a more grown-up space as the kids get older. Check out our rooms below…

Let’s start with Cohen’s room. It was inspired by Guilana Rancic nautical-themed nursery room for baby Duke. I saw it on her show, “Guiliana & Bill”. It has such a modern look and yet still feels like a kids room. Cohen’s room is kind of small so we worked with what we got. I bought the high-gloss gray bookshelf and baskets from Ikea, the octopus picture came from, and his bed was my daughter’s old bed from Pottery Barn Kids which my husband painted it gray to give it a more masculine look. To complete Cohen’s room, I will be adding a zig-zag rug that I purchased from Dwell Studios.

For Chloe’s room, we painted it white and purple as mentioned before. We spray painted a tree branch that my husband took from his parent house and hung it above her bed. I also added some birds that I cut out to give it a chic look. I bought the decors from Michaels and I handmade the lampshade (for the tutorial click here). My daughter loves her books, so we bought these shelves from Ikea and created her a bookcase.
